BELOW ARE SOME OF THE NURSING COURSES AVAILABLE ON SchoolsGalore.com:

Nursing

It is generally understood that the more nursing education one acquires, the better the employment opportunities and rewards. A good nursing course for beginners would be LPN and LVN programs, which usually take about a year to complete. The titles of LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) and LPN (Licensed Practical Nurses) are interchangeable (depending on the state you work in) and both titles require the same educational path. A background or education in chemistry, nutrition, biology, and math offer excellent preparation, but practically anyone with a high school diploma is eligible to apply to LVN and LPN programs. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a career diploma; however, to qualify for professional nursing employment, all nurses are required to pass a licensing exam known as NCLEX exams developed by The National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

Registered Nurse training (RN) can begin with associate degree in nursing programs (ADN degrees), which are commonly available at vocational schools and community colleges. The ADN degree can take 2-3 years to complete, offering solid entry-level nursing education. For more career opportunities and responsibilities, a better choice would be bachelor's degrees in nursing (BSN). The BSN program is a four-year nursing degree program that is the considered the gold standard in nursing health care. If you are able to enter the BSN program with a prior bachelor's degree, you may be allowed to complete a bachelor's in nursing in about 12-18 months. There are several excellent RN to BSN degree programs available on SchoolsGalore.com.

For those dedicated students seeking advanced nurse training, accelerated master's degree programs in nursing (MSN) provide challenges as well as rewards. RN to MSN or BSN to MSN programs are provided by accredited colleges and universities across North America. You can even find doctorate degree programs for nurses, known as Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP or DrNP) or Doctor of Nursing Science (DNSc or DSN). Graduate studies in nursing can take several years to complete, but may be shortened if you enter the degree program with a prior master's degree in another field.

Holistic Nursing

Natural healing practices have become an accepted adjunct to a traditional medical education, and there are some excellent holistic nursing schools in the U.S. and Canada. Along with a traditional nursing education, classes in holistic nursing provide training in the practices of holistic medicine, which considers the patient as a whole being, including mind, body and spirit. Nurses can learn to apply these complementary medical practices that rely on the body's innate ability to self-heal, and do not rely on drugs or invasive surgery. Check with individual nursing schools, colleges and universities for more information about courses for holistic nurses.
